POSITION SUMMARY

The Three Peaks Restaurant Server is responsible for all service of food, beverage, Keno requests and guest interaction within the Spokane Tribe Casino’s Three Peaks Restaurant. The Server is responsible for consistently providing timely and exceptional guest service in accordance with the STC Mission Statement. The Server recognizes guest needs and is able to assist and answer questions in a professional and friendly manner. The Server also must communicate effectively with their Team and with the Kitchen Staff to ensure efficient operation of the Restaurant.

RATE OF PAY: $12.00/Hour Plus Tips

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

(The following statements are intended as general illustrations of the work in this class and are not all inclusive for specific positions.)

  • Recognize guests immediately with a friendly greeting and inform them of daily specials. Comply with company vision and mission by providing exceptional guest service.
  • Assist guests with beverages, demonstrating salesmanship with complete menu and product knowledge.
  • Notify/communicate with the appropriate kitchen staff of any food products that are not properly prepared.
  • Deliver hot and properly plated and garnished meals in a timely manner.
  • Perform as a team, always ready to assist in the team’s success.
  • Ensure guest satisfaction through food quality checks and responsiveness to guest inquiries and complaints.
  • Maintain a well-groomed, neat and clean appearance, carrying out duties with attention to sanitation safety.
  • Anticipate, identify and provide for guest needs.
  • Notify Manager of any workplace safety concerns or issues that may arise.
  • Keep an accurate bank and provide correct change to guests.
  • Perform side work duties on a daily basis.
  • In addition to serving food and beverages, the Restaurant Server will also be tasked with assisting Three Peaks guests with playing Keno, which includes the following duties:
    • Verify Keno tickets for accuracy
    • Collect the tickets and cash from the guest
    • Enter in the Keno ticket on the electronic Keno system, while ensuring accuracy
    • Assist guest with any questions regarding Keno
    • Keep an accurate bank and pay out Keno winnings efficiently and on time
  • Other duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must have ability to:

  • Transport trays and/or plates and glassware throughout the restaurant which may weigh up to 50 pounds, as well as serve food items and beverages.
  • Review and comprehend training materials and any other necessary documentation.
  • Take down orders, recite specials and point specific items out on the menu to customers.
  • Must be able to stand and walk throughout an eight-hour shift.
  • Effectively and efficiently move throughout the restaurant and the kitchen area.
  • Communicate effectively with guests, Team Members, supervisory staff and kitchen staff.
  • Work in an environment that has varying levels of smoke, crowds and noise, the severity of which depends upon customer volume.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Familiarity with food, beverage and wine service required.
  • Knowledge of table service procedures and table etiquette.
  • Must have a minimum of two (2) years table service experience.
  • Cash handling experience required.
  • Must interact with guests and other Team Members in an upbeat and friendly manner.

REGULATORY AND COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

In addition to the other duties described herein, each employee has the following responsibilities related to compliance with laws and regulations:

  • Obtain and maintain required Class B Gaming License from the Spokane Tribal Gaming Commission.
  • Must have and maintain a valid food handler's card and a valid liquor license through approved program (MAST).
  • Attend required training sessions offered by the Spokane Tribe Casino.
  • Perform the duties described in compliance with local laws and regulations.
  • Take the necessary steps to ensure minors are not allowed to gamble or loiter in gambling areas, drink alcoholic beverages or purchase tobacco.
  • Have knowledge of the ordinances, regulations, laws, policies and procedures relating to the employee’s department.
  • Consult Internal Control Procedures and Policy Manuals for guidance.
  • Report illegal activity to Security or the appropriate levels of Management.
