POSITION SUMMARY

The Table Games Dealer is an important member of the Gaming Operations Division of the Spokane Tribe Casino. The Table Games Dealer is responsible for proficiently dealing multiple table games on a rotational basis, providing prompt, accurate and courteous dealing service to players in accordance with standard procedures/internal controls, maintaining the integrity of the game and explaining aspects of the games to players unfamiliar with game rules. The Table Games Dealer is expected to offer the highest level of guest service while also following all ICs, policies and department expectations.

STATUS: Full Time or Part Time / Non-Exempt

RATE OF PAY: $12.00/Hour Plus Tips


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

(These functions are intended as a general illustration of the work performed in this job classification and are not all inclusive for this position)

  • Must learn and ensure policies and procedures are being followed per the departments’ SOPs and Internal Controls.
  • Must adhere to the Spokane Tribe Casino Team Member Handbook.
  • Must adhere to a high level of guest service standards, including assisting the players with their point counts as needed.
  • Responsible for the accuracy and proficient manner in dealing a specific table game while assuring the protection and control of the game being dealt.
  • Process all cash transactions accurately and maintain proper cash handling procedures.
  • Advise Table Games Supervisor or other personnel of any important or relevant facts regarding specific players and their actions, such as suspicious behavior or potential issues.
  • Observe gamblers for signs of cheats, scams or irregularities in play. Notify the proper personnel.
  • Promote Casino promotions with all guests, and prompt new guests to sign up for our Players Club.
  • Must be willing to learn additional games when training is available.
  • Must be familiar with Title 31 and pass all required training.
  • Responsible for acknowledging all table games guests courteously and professionally upon their arrival to their table.
  • Other duties as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Must be extremely numbers-oriented.
  • Must be able to multitask.
  • Excellent guest service skills.
  • Must have ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
  • Ability to work independently and use good judgment.
  • Proven knowledge, training and/or experience on the assigned game required.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a dealing audition.
  • Basic knowledge of all current house procedures.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and color vision.

Must have ability to:

  • Stand for 60 – 90 minutes at a time on a carpeted floor, hardwood floor or footstool.
  • Reach across a table that is waist high to give and take the players' cards and wagers.
  • Deal cards, which involves sweeping arm motions from side to side.
  • Finger dexterity to be able to shuffle and deal cards.
  • See and read to be able to identify cards and pay and collect bets.
  • Communicate effectively and maintain positive customer relations at all times.
  • Provide adequate games protection at all times.
  • Deal multiple games on a rotational basis, depending on training and acquired proficiency, to meet client demand, protect game integrity and allow others to obtain game proficiency, as determined by management.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in dealing and having games knowledge of a minimum of Black Jack.
  • Perform basic mathematical functions.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
  • You may be subject to secondhand smoke when in the Casino environment.

REGULATORY AND COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

In addition to the other duties described herein, each and every employee has the following responsibilities related to compliance with laws and regulations:

  • Obtain and maintain a License B with Spokane Tribal Gaming Commission.
  • Attend required training sessions and meetings offered by the Department and the Casino.
  • Perform the duties described in compliance with local laws and regulations.
  • Take the necessary steps to ensure minors are not allowed to gamble or loiter in gambling areas, drink alcoholic beverages or purchase tobacco.
  • Have knowledge of the ordinances, regulations, laws, policies and procedures relating to the employee’s department.
  • Consult Internal Control Procedures and Policy Manuals for guidance.
  • Report illegal activity to Security or the appropriate levels of Management.
