The Slot Tech provides excellent and efficient service to guests while on the slot floor. The Slot Tech has thorough knowledge of all machines and the equipment necessary to service and repair them and performs responsibilities in accordance with STC ICs, policies and procedures.

POSITION: Slot Technician

PROPERTY: Spokane Tribe Casino

DEPARTMENT: Slot Operations

REPORTS TO: Slot Tech Supervisor

STATUS: Full Time/Non-Exempt

RATE OF PAY: $15.00/HOUR – $17.00/HOUR (DOE/DOQ)

OPENING DATE: October 21, 2019

CLOSING DATE: Open until filled

  • The Slot Tech is responsible for practicing, supporting and promoting the STC Mission Statement of providing guests with a fun, memorable and engaging experience by exceeding our guests' expectations.
  • Must be willing and able to work with all regulatory agencies, i.e., Gaming Commission, State and Federal.
  • Must learn and ensure policies and procedures are being followed per the departments’ Internal Controls.
  • Must adhere to the Spokane Tribe Casino policies and procedures.
  • Observe gamblers for signs of cheats, scams or irregularities in play. Notify the proper supervisory staff.
  • Responsible for the repair, overhaul and proper preventative maintenance of all player terminals to ensure optimal operation.
  • The slot tech must be proactive and identify problems and solutions and follow up with the Slot Tech Supervisor.
  • The Slot Tech communicates by radio with Slot Attendants and other Casino personnel to address issues in a timely manner.
  • Will assist in moving and installing gaming devices as needed.
  • Responsible for the breakdown, relocation and re-setup of machines and stands to be relocated.
  • Held accountable, to a high degree, for maintaining accurate and thorough departmental records and reports.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Must have 6 – 12 months experience working in Slot Operations OR willing to accept 6 months of consecutive service with the Spokane Tribe Casino with a good attendance and dependability record.
  • Excellent guest service skills required.
  • Must have an outgoing, energetic and enthusiastic attitude.
  • Good oral and written communication skills; must be fluent and literate in English.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal and employee relations skills.
  • Must be able to listen and respond to visual and aural cues.
  • Must be able to tolerate areas containing varying noise, smoke and temperature levels.
  • Must be able to multitask and use good judgement.

  • The Employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
  • You will be subject to secondhand smoke when in the casino environment.
  • The environment in the casino is busy and at times hectic, with large amounts of people.
  • May occasionally be exposed to electrical shock.


In addition to the other duties described herein, each and every employee has the following responsibilities related to compliance with laws and regulations:

  • Obtain and maintain a License B with Spokane Tribal Gaming Commission.
  • Attend required training sessions offered by the casino.
  • Must be familiar with the Spokane Tribe Casino handbook.
  • Perform the duties described in compliance with local laws and regulations.
  • Take the necessary steps to ensure minors are not allowed to gamble or loiter in gambling areas, drink alcoholic beverages or purchase tobacco.
  • Have knowledge of the Internal Controls, ordinances, regulations, laws, policies and procedures relating to the employee’s department.
  • Consult Internal Control Procedures and Policy Manuals for guidance.
  • Report illegal activity to Security or the appropriate levels of Management.
