Marketing Manager


POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for coordinating, implementing, creating and managing marketing, advertising, player development and entertainment programs and events that uphold the corporate image and property identity. The Marketing Manager will develop and manage the department budget process and work in tandem with the agency of record to build an overall strategic platform for the brand. The position is also responsible for overseeing all local, regional and/or national advertising campaigns, promotions and public relations efforts.

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

(The following statements are intended as general illustrations of the work in this job class and are not all inclusive for specific positions.)

  • Maintains and directs marketing staff to execute tactical marketing plans to fulfill the Casino’s business strategies including: Player Development, Comp Program, Entertainment, Promotions, Advertising, Social Media, Reputation Management, Community relations and Database;
  • Maintains in-house and external promotions, player loyalty programs, events, and advertising logistics;
  • Leads partnerships with marketing firms to design, develop, and deploy media and advertising campaigns;
  • Tracks and analyzes marketing database systems to monitor marketing activities, utilization, market saturation, event/promotion success, and ROI of all promotions, events, and media to forecast future performance, adjusting plans to secure desired results as needed;
  • Directs research efforts, both qualitative and quantitative, and analyzes results to create and/or adjust programs to effectively drive marketing success;
  • Coordinates and maintains digital and social media presence and activities to educate and engage guests with Casino promotions and events;
  • Demonstrates positive communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills with guests, (internal and external) at all times;
  • Establishes and manages player development, comp and retention programs;
  • Maintains appropriate staffing levels by interviewing, selecting, training, scheduling, evaluating, assisting with career development, promoting, disciplining and terminating employees, as needed;
  • Ensures compliance with policies, procedures, gaming regulations, and internal controls.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or a related field plus at least 5 years’ experience in casino marketing management or slot marketing management role (Database/Promotions) required  - OR -  Ten (10) years’ experience in a casino marketing management role with a proven ability to work in a fast pace environment.
  • Must possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills and a working knowledge of advanced marketing principles that can be applied to various special projects and player development events;
  • Must be proficient in office procedures, methods, and equipment including computers and applicable software applications such as word processing, email, spreadsheets, and databases to include excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point;
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints and to communicate effectively with co-workers and customers in a timely manner per the General Manager’s direction;
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

 


REGULATORY AND COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

In addition to the other duties described herein, each employee has the following responsibilities related to compliance with laws and regulations:

  • Employment is contingent on receiving and maintaining adequate licensing, including any required gaming license (Class A Gaming License);
  • Attend required training sessions offered by the Spokane Tribe Casino;
  • Perform the duties described in compliance with local laws and regulations;
  • Have knowledge of the ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relating to the Casino;
  • Take the necessary steps to ensure minors are not encouraged or permitted to gamble or loiter in gambling areas, drink alcoholic beverages, or purchase tobacco products;
  • Refer to the Internal Control System and Policy Manuals for guidance;
  • Take the appropriate steps to report exceptions, fraud, acts of wrongdoing, and potential violations of regulations or internal controls to the appropriate levels of management;
  • Uphold high standards of ethical behavior, demonstrate an understanding of the impacts of problem gambling, and have knowledge of the Casino’s programs to address problem gambling;
  • Establish rules for promotions and events that conform to Casino policies and regulatory requirements.

  • Capable of working in an office environment but duties may require working in all casino facilities, especially the Cage, Slots, and IT, where the position may experience moderate noise and secondary smoke;
  • Capable of working for extended periods of time at a work station, performing tasks on computer and working with documents.
