POSITION SUMMARY

The EVS Attendant is responsible for performing cleaning duties as directed by the Environmental Services Supervisor throughout the property. The EVS Attendant interacts daily with guests and must uphold the Spokane Tribe Casino’s mission of exceeding guests’ expectations.

POSITION: Environmental Services Attendant

PROPERTY: Spokane Tribe Casino

DEPARTMENT: Facilities

REPORTS TO: EVS Supervisor

STATUS: Part Time

RATE OF PAY: $12.50/Hour


GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Carpet Maintenance.
  • Window Maintenance.
  • Office Maintenance.
  • Rest Room Maintenance.
  • General Maintenance.
  • Must uphold customer service standards and work toward the Spokane Tribe’s mission of exceeding guests’ expectations.
  • Operate and maintain all types of cleaning equipment.
  • Properly executes the 10/5, 1st – last core standard.
  • Efficiently complete all duties while maintaining top-notch customer service skills.
  • Assist facilities engineers with property maintenance when there are adverse weather conditions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

a) Vacuum and sweep.

b) Remove stains, gum and debris.

c) Clean all glass and mirrors in assigned areas.

d) Clean all slot machine signage in assigned areas.

e) Clean all overhead brass.

f) Clean walls, ceilings, vents, lights and fixtures in office areas.

g) Clean and polish brass in office areas.

h) Porter pans, vacuum and spot clean carpets.

i) Vacuum and dust furniture.

j) Remove trash from receptacles.

k) Clean sinks, toilets, urinals and counters.

l) Sweep and mop floors.

m) Polish mirrors, stainless steel and chrome.

n) Clean vents, doors and partitions.

o) Fill paper and soap dispensers.

p) Clean walls, ceilings, lights and fixtures.

q) Clean counters, tables, chairs and railings.

r) Clean slot machine bases.

s) Clean gaming tables.

t) Empty dirty linen containers.


WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must have ability to:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Work in varying levels of crowds, noise and smoke, the severity of which is dependent upon where stationed and customer volume.
  • Must interact with guests and other Team Members in an upbeat and friendly manner.
  • Work with various types of chemicals; proper precautions are taken.
  • Occasionally work outside and be subject to all weather conditions. Proper clothing is provided.
  • Effectively and efficiently move around work area.
  • Work on feet for extended periods of time.
  • Inspect and clean areas of responsibility.
  • Use ladders, as well as clean ground level areas.
  • Lift and move up to 100 pounds on an as-needed basis; ability to lift and move between 10 and 20 pounds frequently throughout shift.
  • Transport all supplies to and from work areas.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Two months of prior janitorial experience required. Must have excellent customer service and communication skills. Must be able to physically perform the duties of the position including moving around effectively, being on feet for long periods of time, lifting requirements of up to 100 pounds, using cleaning chemicals and using ladders and other cleaning tools.


REGULATORY AND COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

In addition to the other duties described herein, every employee has the following responsibilities related to compliance with laws and regulations:

  • Obtain and maintain a License C with Spokane Tribal Gaming Commission.
  • Attend required training sessions offered by the Casinos.
  • Perform the duties described in compliance with local laws and regulations.
  • Take the necessary steps to ensure minors are not allowed to gamble or loiter in gambling areas, drink alcoholic beverages or purchase tobacco.
  • Have knowledge of the ordinances, regulations, laws, policies and procedures relating to the employee’s department.
  • Consult Internal Control Procedures and Policy Manuals for guidance.
  • Report illegal activity to Security or the appropriate levels of Management.
