POSITION SUMMARY

The incumbent in this position is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and appropriateness of main bank transactions and office activity, while conducting transactions with cashier office personnel and other departments.

REPORTS TO: Cage/Club Manager

STATUS: Full Time/Non-Exempt

RATE OF PAY: $15.50/Hour

OPENING DATE: October 23, 2019

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate activities of cage personnel, such as chip exchange on assigned shift to maintain integrity of cage funds.
  • Verify all funds received and disbursed to other departments and line cashiers.
  • Process fills and credits from table games.
  • Ensure accurate records and documenting of all transactions affecting the cashier cage accountability on an assigned shift.
  • Prepare daily bank deposits.
  • Disburse and receive all departmental revenues.
  • Function as a Casino Cashier during shift.
  • Cash checks, cashier checks, coins or chips for customers and Team Members.
  • Handle large amounts of money, accounting for total funds received throughout the day, at the end of each day.
  • Maintain accountability over a cashier drawer.
  • Perform all duties in a confidential manner.
  • Is knowledgeable and adheres to Title 31.
  • Other duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Must be 21 years old.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all times with all levels of employees.
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently move around the main bank, employee bank and coin vault.
  • Must adhere to the Spokane Tribe Casino Employee Handbook.
  • Must adhere to our customer service standards by providing excellent customer service.
  • Must interact with guests and other Team Members in an upbeat and friendly manner.
  • Ability to use computer keyboard, 10-key, calculator, etc.
  • Ability to accurately identify and cash different denominations of gaming tokens and cash currency.
  • Must be able to retrieve and move coin bags and racks of chips, which may weigh as much as 50 pounds, throughout an 8-hour shift.

EQUIPMENT AND MACHINES USED

Adding machines and personal computer programs.


JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of all levels of cage operations. Ability to perform basic mathematical functions. Prior supervisor experience helpful but not required. Thorough knowledge of gaming control regulations. Experience working with title 31. This knowledge and these abilities are typically acquired through a minimum of six months cashiering or banking experience. Preference will be granted to those that have prior Casino Cage experience.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and color vision.


WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. You may be subject to secondhand smoke when in the casino environment. This is a money-handling position.


REGULATORY AND COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

In addition to the other duties described herein, each and every employee has the following responsibilities related to compliance with laws and regulations:

  • Obtain and maintain a License B with Spokane Tribal Gaming Commission.
  • Attend required training sessions offered by the Casinos.
  • Perform the duties described in compliance with local laws and regulations.
  • Take the necessary steps to ensure minors are not allowed to gamble or loiter in gambling areas, drink alcoholic beverages or purchase tobacco.
  • Have knowledge of the ordinances, regulations, laws, policies and procedures relating to the employee’s department.
  • Consult Internal Control Procedures and Policy Manuals for guidance.
  • Report illegal activity to Security or the appropriate levels of Management.
