Casino Property Analyst

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for performing primary research, developing and reporting performance key indicators and providing insights regarding the performance of property operations initiatives and marketing initiatives including but not limited to promotions, local competitors, labor, etc. Analyzes data and recommends opportunities for continuous improvement.

REPORTS TO: General Manager/Director of Gaming Ops

STATUS: Full Time/Exempt

RATE OF PAY: $60,000/Yearly - $70,000/Yearly Salary

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct in-depth analysis on property operational and marketing promotional campaigns and assessing effectiveness, measuring return on investment and identifying trends and opportunities.
  • Perform market research projects including competitive analysis.
  • Support and provide consultation for the improvement of operating efficiencies including increased revenue, expense management, effective use of resources and guest service in cooperation with property department managers.
  • Organize data, identify issues and propose solutions with assignments and timelines.
  • Identify positive financial outcomes to increase profitability.
  • Analyze feedback, identify opportunities for improvement and work with property/department leadership to establish standards and methods for service improvement and operational process/flow to ensure efficiencies.
  • Evaluate market penetration studies within the casino databases.
  • Manage market segmentation, positioning exercises and targeting required.
  • Support Player Development with KPI analysis and periodic reporting.
  • Design and manage process for collecting/tabulating performance data analyzing trends, identifying valuable insights and reporting findings/recommendations property-wide.
  • Maintain working knowledge of database marketing concepts.
  • Assist operations from time to time as needed to gain insights into campaign effectiveness; this includes casino promotions and special events.
  • Work with the Marketing Department by supporting the team with metrics and as-needed (ad hoc) analysis.
  • Ensure quality, timely, efficient execution of analysis, ad hoc requests and dissemination of findings.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable gaming laws and company internal controls, policies and procedures, Title 31 and federal regulations as they apply to the position.
  • Provide outstanding guest service in a timely manner to both guests and fellow team members that meets the Spokane Tribe Casino Mission Statement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

GENERAL CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must have ability to:

  • Move around all work areas effectively and efficiently;
  • Work periodically under conditions of extreme urgency (creating higher levels of job stress);

  • Capable of working in an office environment, but duties may require working in all casino facilities, especially the Cage, Slots and gaming areas, where the position may experience moderate noise and secondhand smoke;

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Prior Gaming experience required.
  • Minimum of an AA degree in Management, Business or Mathematics is required; Bachelor’s or Master’s degree education preferred.
  • Must have a minimum of three (3) or more years’ experience working as an Analyst or a similar role.
  • Experienced in reading, analyzing and interpreting card holders play.
  • Proven successful experience maintaining appropriate staffing levels and labor costs.
  • Must have extensive experience working with various relational databases and writing queries in various systems.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in office procedures, methods and equipment including computers and applicable software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents, such as internal controls, safety rules, regulations, technical procedure manuals, instructions, basic correspondence, reports and memos.
  • Must have the ability to work within the leadership team and address any requests for analytical review then deliver results or findings of those queries.

REGULATORY AND COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

In addition to the other duties described herein, each employee has the following responsibilities related to compliance with laws and regulations:

  • Employment is contingent on receiving and maintaining adequate licensing, including any required gaming license;
  • Attend required training sessions offered by the Spokane Tribe Casino;
  • Perform the duties described in compliance with local laws and regulations;
  • Have knowledge of the ordinances, regulations, laws, policies and procedures relating to the Casino;
  • Take the necessary steps to ensure minors are not encouraged or permitted to gamble or loiter in gambling areas, drink alcoholic beverages or purchase tobacco products;
  • Refer to the Internal Control System and Policy Manuals for guidance;
  • Take the appropriate steps to report exceptions, fraud, acts of wrongdoing and potential violations of regulations or internal controls to the appropriate levels of management;
  • Uphold high standards of ethical behavior, demonstrate an understanding of the impacts of problem gambling and have knowledge of the casino’s programs to address problem gambling.
