Slot Technician


POSITION SUMMARY

The Slot Technician is responsible for the overall repair and maintenance of all electrical and mechanical player terminals.

RATE OF PAY:             $14.00/HOUR - $17.00/HOUR (DOE/DOQ)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

(These functions are intended as a general illustration of the work performed in this job classification and are not all inclusive for this position)

  • Must be willing and able to work with all regulatory agencies, i.e., Gaming Commission, State, and Federal.
  • Must learn and ensure policies and procedures are being followed per the departments’ Internal Controls.
  • Must adhere to the Spokane Tribe Casino policies and procedures.
  • Must provide guests with the best possible experience by providing exceptional customer service.
  • Observe gamblers for signs of cheats, scams or irregularities in play. Notify the proper personnel.
  • Responsible for the repair, overhaul, and proper preventative maintenance of all player terminals to ensure optimal operation.
  • The slot tech must be proactive and identify problems & solutions follow up with the Slot Tech Supervisor.
  • Will assist in moving and installing gaming devices as needed.
  • Responsible for the break down, relocation, and re set-up of machines and stands to be relocated.
  • Held accountable, to a high degree, for maintaining accurate and thorough departmental records and reports. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or GED required.  
  • Must have at least one year experience working in Slot Operations or as a Slot Technician.
  • Prefer background in electronics or IT.  
  • Excellent customer service skills required.  Must have an outgoing, energetic and enthusiastic attitude. 
  • Good oral and written communication skills, must be fluent and literate in English. 
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal and employee relations skills. 
  • Must be able to listen and respond to visual and aural cues. 
  • Must be able to tolerate areas containing varying noise, smoke, and temperature levels.
  • Must be able to multi task and use good judgement.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. You may be subject to secondhand smoke when in the casino environment.


REGULATORY AND COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

In addition to the other duties described herein, each employee has the following responsibilities related to compliance with laws and regulations:

  • Obtain and maintain a License B with Spokane Tribal Gaming Commission.
  • Attend required training sessions offered by the Casinos.
  • Perform the duties described in compliance with local laws and regulations.
  • Take the necessary steps to ensure minors are not allowed to gamble or loiter in gambling areas, drink alcoholic beverages, or purchase tobacco.
  • Have knowledge of the ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relating to the employee’s department.
  • Consult Internal Control Procedures and Policy Manuals for guidance.
  • Report illegal activity to Security or the appropriate levels of Management.
