Security Dual Rate- 7 Day Posting for Internal Only

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for the efficient operation of the security department on assigned shift, in accordance with the company’s established policies, procedures and controls to adequately protect the life and property of customers, employees and the company. Administering first aid and emergency medical attention to customers and employees on the property, as required.

The Dual Rate position will be used as needed. When there is a need for Supervisory duties, the Dual Rate will be notified prior to the shift that they will be performing as a Supervisor.

RATE OF PAY: $14.00 and $18.00 / HR

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES FOR SECURITY OFFICER

(These functions are intended as a general illustration of the work performed in this job classification and are not all inclusive for this position)

  • Must be willing to work with all regulatory agencies, i.e., Gaming Commission, State, and Federal.
  • Must learn and ensure policies and procedures are being followed per the departments’ Internal Controls.
  • Must adhere to the Spokane Tribe Casino Handbook.
  • Must adhere to our customer service standards by providing excellent customer service.
  • Observe gamblers for signs of cheats, scams or irregularities in play. Notify the proper personnel.
  • Generates necessary written reports regarding security-related incidents involving customers, employees and/or the facility, also write incidents in the security log book.
  • Escorts and observes customers and employees, to ensure their safety and protection.
  • Becomes familiar with hazardous materials used on property, and all applicable laws, rules and regulations governing it.
  • Acts as a dispatcher during emergency situations, and coordinates solutions to it. Informs outside agencies and surveillance of any unusual or suspicious situations on property.
  • Operates company vehicles as directed to do so.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of facilities, as well as special events on property, in order to advise customers of same, whenever possible.
  • Ensures safe transportation of company moneys; assists in the opening and closing of the gaming tables.
  • Patrols the property identifying potential security and/or safety hazards, and reporting to the appropriate individual.
  • Facilitates the flow of information, by attending regularly scheduled departmental meetings.
  • Maintains a series of keys, accessing locked areas as necessary.
  • Checks identification from all persons who appear to be under the legal age, to ensure compliance with state and federal gaming regulations.
  • Held accountable, to a very high degree, for the accuracy and thoroughness of departmental records and reports.
  • You will be responsible for reporting work related injuries to HR.
  • You will be responsible for maintaining the extra badges for the employees.
  • You will administer visitor passes to vendors and others that have scheduled meetings or business with the casino.
  • You will be required to greet customers and open the doors for the customer’s entry into the casino when you are monitoring the entrance.
  • Held to a strict code of confidentiality.
  • You will be required to monitor the two-way radio that should be on your person at all times.
  • Other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES FOR SECURITY SUPERVISOR

  • Must be willing to work with all regulatory agencies, i.e., Gaming Commission, State, and Federal.
  • Must learn and ensure policies and procedures are being followed per the departments’ Internal Controls.
  • Must adhere to the Spokane Tribe Casino Handbook.
  • Must adhere to our customer service standards by providing excellent customer service. Monitor employees within the Security department to ensure customer service standards are being executed.
  • Generate necessary written reports regarding incidents involving customers, employees and/or the facility. Record incidents in the security log book. All reports must be written and submitted in a timely manner to the necessary departments.
  • Escorts and observes customers and employees to ensure their safety and protection.
  • Becomes familiar with hazardous materials used on property, and all applicable laws, rules and regulations governing it.
  • You will supervise emergency situations. Inform outside agencies and surveillance of any unusual or suspicious situations on property.
  • Operates company vehicles as directed to do so.
  • The Security Shift Supervisor must be proactive and identity problems, solutions, and employee issues. Follow up with Security manager, CSM, and Assistant General Manager.
  • Patrols the property identifying potential security and/or safety hazards, and reporting to the appropriate individual
  • Assists in the daily operations of the Security Department.
  • Facilitates the flow of information by attending regularly scheduled departmental meetings with your staff.
  • Maintains a series of keys, accessing locked areas as necessary.
  • Checks identification from all persons who appear to be under the legal age, to ensure compliance with state and federal gaming regulations.
  • Held accountable, to a very high degree, for the accuracy and thoroughness of departmental records and reports.
  • Assist in updating departmental and company procedures.
  • Train new officers. Prepare quarterly evaluations. Discipline as needed.
  • You will administer visitor passes to vendors and others that have scheduled meetings or business with the casino.
  • You will be required to greet customers and open the doors for the customer’s entry into the casino when monitoring the entrance.
  • You will be required to monitor the two-way radio that will be on your person at all times.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • Must have at least 1 year experience in Security- OR- 6 months experience as a Security Officer for the Spokane Tribe Casino/Chewelah Casino with a thorough understanding of the Security Internal Controls, SOP’s and Handbook required.
  • Must have computer skills and ability to work with Excel, MS Word and Outlook. (Computer test required.)
  • Experience working in the Casino or Gaming industry preferred.
  • Excellent Customer Service skills and experience working with the public required, this must be demonstrated in previous employment.
  • Ability to work independently and use good judgment.
  • Ability to lead and motivate employees.
  • Excellent leadership skills with ability to problem solve.
  • Must be able to multi-task
  • Must have good communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Must have a current driver’s license and be insurable under the Tribe’s insurance policy.

  • You will be subject to secondhand smoke when in the casino environment.

REGULATORY AND COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

In addition to the other duties described herein, each and every employee has the following responsibilities related to compliance with laws and regulations:

  • Obtain and maintain a License B with Spokane Tribal Gaming Commission.
  • Attend required training sessions offered by the Casinos.
  • Perform the duties described in compliance with local laws and regulations.
  • Take the necessary steps to ensure minors are not allowed to gamble or loiter in gambling areas, drink alcoholic beverages, or purchase tobacco.
  • Have knowledge of the ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relating to the employee’s department.
  • Consult Internal Control Procedures and Policy Manuals for guidance.
  • Report illegal activity to Security or the appropriate levels of Management.
